1st Year

As most of you already know, DeAnna and I celebrated our 1st anniversary in Key West for four days 16th - 20th. And, thanks to my honey's excellent trip planning skills, had a great time.

I've never been to the Keys before, and it's been awhile since DeAnna has been too, but she planned out our mini-vacation perfectly. No, no... we weren't busy tourists, bouncing from one boring museum to the next, we filtered out all that junk and just saw the "good" stuff. We party'd on Duval St. (like a mini-MardiGras for those of you who've never been), and relaxed. All the ingredients of a perfect (albeit short) anniversary vacation.

On the way down, we did stop in Key Largo for a day to do a bit of snorkeling. We wanted to check out the corral reefs down there. We had a lot of fun that day - just me and my babe, wave hopp'n.. Wahoooo!

We arrived in Key West the next morning, at the beginning of a MardiGras-type celebration, called Fantasy Fest. People get half nude (some more than others) and paint their bodies, wear masks, etc, etc... a JOYOUS celebration that was about to climax (nice word-choice Jeff) right after we left - HOW #^&@*&! CONVENIENT! Oh well, there were plenty of other fungoers out there to have fun with in the weeee hours.

We walked everywhere, which sounds tiresome, but the island is small and we enjoyed checking out the residents homes and small businesses - many of which would be surely missed if we were riding all the time. It was too cool.

We stayed in a very nice suite at a bed and breakfast, Authors of Key West. It was just restored, so everything was brand new. It had a kitchenette in which DeAnna prepared breakfast for us one morning, a private porch, and parking space, lots of room, a cool shower, AND FREE HBO!

We had a lot of fun. We didn't do a lot of the tourist stuff, so when we go back, there is still more to tackle. We decided that the next time we go, we'll have to bring some people with us. Any volunteers? Anyway... just wanted to give everyone an update on our lives. Ciao!
